The questions people ring up to ask.

Still not sure?

Is your clinic actually in Buderim?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. The clinic is at Shop 2, 21 Smith Street, Mooloolaba — about ten minutes and seven kilometres from Buderim village. We serve a lot of Buderim patients from there, because that is where the digital X-ray suite, the rehabilitation space and the physiotherapy team are.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No. Chiropractors are primary healthcare practitioners in Australia, so you can book directly. A GP referral only comes into it for DVA or workers' compensation claims.

Can I claim on private health insurance?

Yes, if your extras cover includes chiropractic. The clinic has HICAPS on site, so the claim is processed while you are there and you only pay the gap.

How long does the first appointment take?

Around forty-five minutes for the consultation, examination and, where appropriate, initial treatment. Allow a little longer if imaging is needed on the day. Follow-up visits are considerably shorter.

Will I be adjusted on the first visit?

Usually, if the examination shows it is appropriate. There are cases where imaging or another opinion needs to come first — if that applies to you, we will explain why rather than adjusting for the sake of it.

Do I need an X-ray?

Not always. We image when it would change the treatment: ruling out pathology, confirming the level of a problem, or checking an anatomical variation before choosing a technique. The suite is on site at Mooloolaba, so it does not mean a second trip.

I do not like being 'cracked'. Is there another option?

Yes. Low-force, drop-table and instrument-assisted techniques are all available. Say so at the consultation and the approach will be adapted to what you are comfortable with.

Do you treat children and older patients?

Yes. Technique and force are matched to the person in front of us, and are markedly gentler at both ends of the age range.

Is there parking?

Free undercover parking beneath the building on Smith Street. No meters, and no driving laps of the Esplanade looking for a space.

Do you have Saturday appointments?

Yes, Saturday mornings from 8:00am to 12:30pm at Mooloolaba, plus weeknights to 7:00pm. Saturday books out first, so ring early in the week if you need one.

Can I see a physiotherapist instead?

You can. Absolute Health has physiotherapists in the same building, and if the examination suggests your problem is better served that way we will say so. See physiotherapy at Absolute Health.

What if chiropractic is not the right answer for me?

Then you will be told that. Referral to your GP, a specialist, or co-management with another practitioner is a better outcome than a treatment plan that was never going to work.

Book, or just ask.

Either is fine. The front desk at Mooloolaba answers the phone during opening hours.
